Das Vorhaben wurde 2015 im Anschluss an den Beschluss des Freiburger Grossen Rates zur finanziellen Unterst\u00fctzung von kantonalen und regionalen Schwimmbadprojekten initiiert. Die Region m\u00f6chte dem Mangel an Schwimminfrastrukturen im Bezirk entgegenwirken und jedem Sch\u00fcler die M\u00f6glichkeit bieten, schwimmen zu lernen. <br \/>Es wurde ein paralleles Studienauftrag durchgef\u00fchrt, dessen Ergebnisse im M\u00e4rz 2024 vorgestellt wurden. Parallel dazu wurde ein Finanzmodell entwickelt, mit dem die Rentabilit\u00e4t des Projekts verbessert werden soll. Das Wirtschaftsmodell sieht neben den 12- und 25-Meter-Becken einen Freizeitbereich vor, um das Sport- und Badeangebot zu erweitern.
